JAX Tyres & Auto
An industry-specific solution suitable for corporate and franchise stores

JAX Tyres & Auto is an Australia-wide automotive network specialising in the sales and service of tyres, wheels, brakes and suspension. Founded in 1949, the network comprises more than 80 stores nationwide, across both metro and rural locations. The network is made up of a mix of head office-owned and franchisee-owned locations, which services more than 60,000 customers every month.
What they needed help with
JAX required a scalable solution for the bookkeeping and payroll of their fluctuating number of head office stores, as well as ensuring that monthly reports are delivered to its Korean head office to strict reporting deadlines. The company also required a fixed-price solution they could offer to franchisees who needed help staying on top of their numbers.
As well as being easily scalable, the solution needed to be able to accommodate MarlinGTX, an industry-specific accounting and stock management software used throughout the JAX network.
iKeep’s solution
We designed a bespoke version of the iKeep Outsourced Accounts Package suitable for both company-owned and franchise stores, based on a scope of works and monthly retainer negotiated with head office.
In this instance, we partnered with Findex, as its network of offices throughout Australia meant that each of the JAX franchise owners would have a contact point close to their location.
Our familiarity with a wide range of software packages and accounting background meant that it was simple to upskill our team in MarlinGTX. After putting a select few of our team through training, we developed our own checklists for what needed to be done each day, week, fortnight and month to ensure that all statutory and taxation requirements are fulfilled – and to ensure that monthly reports are delivered on time with no hassle.
We also took a hands-on role supporting the franchise store owners, many of whom were running a business for the first time. This included guidance on obligations such as workers comp, ensuring correct award rates were being paid and assisting with BAS lodgement. This not only assists the franchise owners, but also gives JAX comfort that its franchisees are doing the right thing and enables it to offer extra support where required.

Sweet Mickie
In 2015, Emma left her corporate career to pursue her passion for baking; she started a Melbourne-based company producing gift cookies featuring customisable (and often cheeky!) quotes. The idea of sending messages to friends, family, employees and co-workers via cookies proved very popular, and Emma soon upgraded her operation to a commercial kitchen and shopfront, and took on a number of staff members.
